Monarch chrysalis

Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus)

It's been fun to watch the Monarchs in the garden. The caterpillars stripped the milkweed plants, and set out their chrysalis, then the butterflies appeared...

On the last night of winter, my true love said to me...

MUSHROOMS!

Yes that's right folks,

There have been a bunch this season...

So I just wanted that I made sure to share before spring!

Stones

This been weeding season here at The Crop Circle...

But as I say to The Pup "A handful a day keeps the weeds at bay!"

However the black stones have been bugging me for the last couple of years, so...

Decided to do a deep weed on them.
So I've been stripping them...

Outlining them with rocks...

Fill it with stones...

Cover them with brick dust...
And wait for the rain...

As you can see I have a variety of sections in various stages.

Water, everywhere over the earth, flows to join together. A single
natural law controls it. Each human is a member of a community and
should work within it.

Big wave.
Full Moon crescendo reaches a peak
from the New Moon surge of 2 weeks ago.
This time of  unprecedented challenges and unprecedented opportunities
Virgo Full Moon strives to make sense
and bring practical focus to the realm of speculation and possibilities.
Split between details and dreams,
discrimination and idealism.
We want results but can be indecisive.
When the stability and tangibility we seek
slips through our fingers,
look into the hidden places
between the cracks.
Carefulness and carelessness,
skillful synthesis.
Streaming inspired compassion into service.
The future is here now.

Where am I investing my attention?
Where do I need to create order in my life?
How may I make a difference and serve?

Busy is not the word!

Over the Valentines Day weekend we got busy...

We took down the old lattice from off of the wall...

which then needed to be patched up...

and we pained it.

put new legs on the pergola and re-attached the lattice...

and if that wasn't enough work the following weekend we...

extended the lattice...

on both sides!
Heaven only knows what this weekend holds in store!
By the end of this we should have some grapes this year.

Why Crop Circle Gardens?

We opted for Crop Circle Gardens as a name due to our garden design.
The previous owners owned an over ground swimming pool in the middle yard which they took when they left. We opted to put our vegetable garden with some fruit trees right there.

This is our winter salad garden.

Onions and garlic, with the tomatoes and peppers in the background.

Here's our apple tree with our cheremoya in the background, we have a total of 47 different fruit varieties (including 4 types of blueberries).
It's springtime so there's lots to be done, but that will be the next couple of posts.
